This AI Agreement explains how Resume Bestie uses artificial intelligence in the Service, the data commitments we make to you, your responsibilities when using AI-generated content, and the limits of what AI can and cannot do.
1. How We Use AI
Resume Bestie uses large language models (LLMs) provided through our AI Gateway to power features such as: rewriting bullet points, tailoring resumes to specific job descriptions, generating cover letters, scoring resumes against ATS criteria, and producing interview-prep questions and sample answers.
2. What We Send to the Model
When you use an AI feature, we send the relevant inputs (e.g., your resume sections, the job description you pasted, your edits, and contextual instructions) to the model provider via our AI Gateway. We send only what is needed to produce a useful response and do not include your password, payment details, or unrelated Account data.
3. Training Commitment
We do not allow your Content to be used to train third-party foundation models. Our AI Gateway is configured so that prompts and outputs are processed solely to return responses to you, not to improve the underlying models. We may use aggregated, de-identified usage metrics (e.g., feature-level success rates) to improve our own product.
4. Retention
AI prompts and outputs are stored under your Account so you can review, re-use, and export them. You can delete individual items from your Account, and we delete all AI history within 30 days of Account deletion. Short operational logs at the gateway level (for abuse prevention and reliability) are typically retained for 30 days.
5. Accuracy & Your Responsibility
AI output is not guaranteed to be accurate, up to date, or appropriate for every situation. It can hallucinate, misstate facts, omit important context, or reflect biases from training data. You are solely responsible for reviewing, fact-checking, and editing every AI-generated suggestion before submitting it to an employer, recruiter, or platform. Do not submit any document you have not personally reviewed.
Family profiles. When an adult account holder uses Student Mode to build a resume for a family member, the adult — not the family member — must operate the Service and must personally review and approve every AI-generated suggestion before any use. The adult is solely responsible for the accuracy of any information entered about the family member and for the final content of any resume produced. The AI is instructed never to invent jobs, dates, awards, or numbers, but mistakes are possible and the adult is the final reviewer.
6. No Professional Advice
The Service does not provide legal, medical, financial, immigration, or career-counseling advice. AI-generated text is for general informational purposes only.
7. Prohibited Uses of AI Features
You agree not to use AI features to: (a) fabricate qualifications, employers, dates, or credentials you do not have; (b) impersonate another person; (c) generate content that is defamatory, harassing, hateful, sexually explicit involving minors, or otherwise illegal; (d) attempt to extract or recreate the underlying model weights; (e) attempt prompt-injection or jailbreaks designed to bypass safety filters; or (f) automate high-volume scraping or abuse of the AI features.
8. Disclosure to Employers
Some employers, schools, or jurisdictions require disclosure when AI was used to prepare an application. It is your responsibility to comply with those rules.
9. Output Ownership & License
Subject to the Terms, you own the resumes, cover letters, and other Content you create with the Service, including AI-assisted output. You grant us a limited license to host and process that Content solely to operate the Service for you (see Terms §8). Note that AI output may not be copyrightable in all jurisdictions; we make no representation about the IP status of AI-generated text.
10. Changes
We may add, remove, or change AI features and model providers as the technology evolves. We will update this Agreement and post the new "Last updated" date.
